We’ve got a little traction now. New folks are reading, sharing, and replying. It feels like the right moment to open things up and talk concerts—the nights that change you a little.

At the end, I want your top three most memorable shows. Hit reply or drop them in the comments—I’ll feature a few in a future issue.

#1 — Travis Tritt at Jamboree in the Hills (2007)

If I could bottle a single night of live music and keep it forever, it would be this one.

Travis Tritt played right at two hours total—about one hour with the full band, then he came back for an encore that was just him, a barstool, and his acoustic guitar for another hour. No tricks. Just songs and the kind of quiet between them that lets you hear fingers slide on strings.

About the festival: Jamboree in the Hills wasn’t just an event—it was a tradition. A summer pilgrimage. People set up campsites, flew homemade flags, and lived like one big temporary family. Lifelong friends were made there. Crazy bonds were formed there. The stories still get told around campfires and kitchen tables.

Over time, corporate decisions chipped away at what made it special, and that still stings. I was part of its last 17 years, and I’m grateful I got to see nights like this one. That Travis Tritt show is a forever memory.

#2 — Todd Snider at the Beachland Ballroom (Cleveland, OH)

If you read Issue #4, you know we took a deeper dive on the Beachland—one of the purest rooms in the Midwest: half dive bar, half sanctuary for songwriters.

Seeing Todd Snider there lit my fire for alt‑country and Americana. He walked out barefoot, talked half his songs, sang the rest, and made the whole room feel like old friends leaning over a story. That night opened a door I never closed.

#3 — Nickelback at Riverbend Music Center (Cincinnati, OH) (2018)

Call it cheesy. I call it ours.

I was there with my wife, and every song was a sing‑along. It wasn’t about “cool.” It was about a night where the whole set felt familiar, fun, and loud. Sometimes the right company turns an ordinary show into something unforgettable. This was one of those nights.
